Sonoma Wine Country Weekend

August 30 – September 1, 2013

Escape to the natural beauty and serenity of Sonoma County and celebrate one of America’s most intoxicating wine regions. Held over the Labor Day holiday, Sonoma Wine Country Weekend is Sonoma County’s largest and most exciting wine and food event and the perfect way to indulge in the epicurean lifestyle of California’s breathtaking wine country.

Indulge in fresh cuisine and flavorful Sonoma-grown wines from over 200 chefs and wineries. Showcasing the bounty of wine, food and fun, the Sonoma Wine Country Weekend raises money for the future of Sonoma’s kids and communities. For three sublime days and nights, the Sonoma Wine Country Weekend offers three main events where you can wine, dine, taste and toast to the breathtaking setting of the Sonoma Wine Country.

Dance under the stars at Sonoma Starlight at Francis Ford Coppola Winery in beautiful Geyersville. Kick off Friday night at this iconic winery with local chefs, live music, dancing and wine flowing.

Savor the fresh, local flavors and culinary essence of Central California Coast at the Taste of Sonoma at MacMurray Ranch, a breathtaking vineyard in the rolling hills of the Russian River Valley.  Sample pours and foods from 200 wineries and 60 chefs, and enjoy food and wine pairings, wine seminars, sommelier-led tours, and demonstrations.

Raise a glass and bid on exceptional wines and lifestyle experiences at the Sonoma Harvest Wine Auction at Chateau St. Jean – the heart of the weekend’s charitable endeavors.  Mingle under the big tent with Sonoma County’s wine growers and food community at this event that supports Sonoma County charities. The Grand Lawn of Chateau St. Jean is transformed into Sonoma County’s most festive wine and food celebration.

Sonoma Wine Country Weekend also offers intimate luncheons, barbeques and dinner parties at Sonoma’s charming and historic wineries. Proceeds from the Sonoma Wine Country Weekend benefit local charities that help students, children, farm workers and people in need.

Stretching along the Pacific Coast, just north of San Francisco, Sonoma County is home to 60,000 acres of vineyards and over 370 wineries. Within 15 unique appellations, Sonoma County is truly one of California’s best Wine Country destinations and a spectacular destination for a weekend getaway.
