The Modernization of Wine
Before I begin, let me correct a statement I made on my last post, Ace Cider in the Hole still makes their pear hard cider and it’s called Perry.
Now on with the show, SFMOMA, or the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, has just launched a very interesting show revolving around the culture of wine and how architecture and design have been used in wine’s transformation into an important cultural trend. Artisan chocolate, artisan beer, artisan bread, tea leaves harvested in the early spring from the Hubai province, and on and on, the phenom of selecting a food or drink to elevate to a “connoisseur” level has been with us for a while and if you think about it - wine started it all. The exhibit started November 20 and goes to April 17, 2011. Here’s the press release to learn more about the show:
