A Chocolate Cake made by an Angel
Hi Ho there, I know it’s been several months since I posted – bad, bad – no excuses, I was just putting it off.
Today I want to talk about pastries – cake – chocolate cake – chiffon chocolate cake and Patisserie Angelica(6821 Laguna Park Way, Sebastopol, 707-827-7998). Every so often I hear this cake calling my name. Patisserie Angelica is located across the street from the Sebastopol Police Department and shares a parking lot with the Sebastopol Cinemas, which is also across the street from the police station. But their location is hardly a reflection on what goes on inside this little hidden nook of fabulousness, baking and lots of it – specifically their Chocolate Cake, their chiffon Chocolate Cake for me. I have Foodcrafters vid link here so you can watch as Condy makes magic and you’re mouth starts to water. Sure, they make more than just this cake, but I have tunnel vision when I step into their shop.
Anyway, Patisserie Angelica has been in Sebastopol for a while and while you might hear more about Village Bakery on Healdsburg Ave, which is an off shoot of the same bakery in Santa Rosa in the Town and Country Shopping Center, you’ve got to make time to visit Patisserie Angelica. Condy is the head Pastry Chef and French trained so any thing you buy from them is freshly made there and has got the mark of rich, tasty goodness. If you have time, try their Tea Menu, house-made scones, tea sandwiches, choice of teas and then take one of their Chocolate Cakes home and hide it away for your self :0
One last thing, the bakery has limited days open(Friday and Saturday 10am – 5pm) plus you can find them every Saturday at the Sebastopol Farmer’s Market located across from Whole Foods on McKinley Ave.
