A Bird in the Hand

Just a reminder that the great bird migration through Sonoma County is happening right now. Those of you who are Birders already know that Schollenberger Park in Petaluma is one of the many marshlands locally that invites the beautiful and graceful Egrets to land and feed, as well as those noisy Canadian Geese.

Personally, Schollenberger is one great trail to run, a total of four miles from the door to my house, once around and back home. And if I feel frisky, I can add the milege from Ellis Creek Trail – it’s right next door. I do run around the Birders with their binoculars and slow down to admire the Egret standing right on the shoulder – geez.
