Let’s Eat – Pub Republic

There’s a little strip mall off Lakeville Hwy heading east in south Petaluma that’s been trying to find the right restaurant to anchor that retail area and I think they’ve got a winner. Pub Republic, a brew pub with dozens of beer on tap and pub food like burgers, fish and chips, salads and hand

A Museum By Any Other Name

Until recently I’d heard of the Sonoma County Museum but had never experienced it. It’s located in downtown Santa Rosa right across the street from the Santa Rosa Plaza shopping mall. Not a glamorous location but the museum was there first, built in the early 1900s, before downtown Santa Rosa built up around it.  It’s

My, my, my this past December there was a treasure trove of magazine articles published about our area – and that would be Sonoma County south and Sonoma County west. Petaluma, CA

Our niece was perusing the National Geographic Adventure Magazine online and came across this article written in October 2009  about Petaluma, Play, Eat and Sleep http://adventure.nationalgeographic.com/weekend-getaways/california/petaluma-travel What’s interesting is that every recommendation in the article from joining a free group bike ride with Bici Sport bike shop to stopping in at Della Fattoria for a freshly baked pastry

A Wine Country Special

Happy New Year everyone. The rain has finally arrived in Sonoma County and I’m loving it. The dreary weather makes shopping, eating in restaurants, going to a movie more cozy in my mind. With coziness in mind let me tell you about a beautiful little informal wine shop that just happens to be a restaurant or
